He really, really, really, really, really loves Disney – let’s find out more about Mikey Kelly.
Where from: Manchester, England.
How old were you when you first left the country: I was 4/5 when I first left the UK to go to Ireland, but if you mean like outside of U.K. and Ireland, then it wasn’t till I was 17 to go to Switzerland.
How many countries travelled: 6 countries (excluding the U.K.) and 9 states.
Favourite place/country: USA (obviously), specific state – Florida.
Why? I just love being there! I’ve been in the US at summer camp for the past two years, and while I’ve been there I’ve just met the most amazing people.
Next trip? My next trip might be to Budapest in Hungry for New Years, if not though, then maybe the US again, have to see how it goes.
Bucket list? I sort of have a bucket list, but I just do what seems good in the moment most of the time! I would love to go to Canada, Japan, and visit the west coast of the US. But stuff I’ve ticked off it are actually go to the US in the first place, see the Northern Lights, do a skydive and go to Italy.
What stops you from travelling? Lack of money is a stopper but I usually save hard when making plans, but also other commitments stop me from going like work or uni.
Best food you’ve eaten in another country? Just after finishing camp last year, we got to New Jersey and me and the people I was travelling with went to Ruby Tuesday. It was like the first proper meal in weeks, it was so good. It was a really meaty meal and so was so so good after spending two and a half months at a Jewish camp where we either have dairy or meat meals, never together – it was the best BBQ ribs with fries and onion rings ever.
No. 1 road-trip song? No. 1 road trip song, well when my sister would take me on trips and stuff when I was younger we would sing along to Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now.
