11 Questions

He once saw Kim Kardashian when he went to Tennessee two years ago… it’s his turn to answer 11 questions – here’s more about Liam McCullion.

Age: 21

Where from: Hull, England.

How old were you when you first left the country: I went on holiday when I was younger but went ‘travelling’ when I was 18.

How many countries travelled: I’ve been to 25 countries but during my gap year specifically I went to 11 countries.

Favourite place/country: It’s hard to say as all the countries are different so I usually categorise them.

Why? In Asia my favourite place was Vietnam because it was the biggest cultural shock to what I was used to in the west. We also hired bikes and just roamed the country going from Hanoi down to Ho Chi Minh City and it was just so culturally diverse and the landscape was just untapped beauty. Plus, for the best food in the world by far, go to Pho2000 and get Phở tái.

New Zealand over Australia, as I did loads of adventure stuff like skydiving, bungee jumping, cave diving… in probably the prettiest country I’ve ever been to.

I’d probably say Fiji was my top destination out of all the countries – just for the relaxation. I had no phone service for a week and no access to the outside world. Being in paradise for a week filled me with such content and relaxation – it’s so so so pretty. I also swam with Manta Rays here!

I’d say Canada over the USA, just because its so much nicer and chilled but with all the benefits you get from the USA!

Next trip? This year I have a few trips planned: Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin and maybe going to Poland. But next summer I’m going back to work in Australia for 8 weeks!

Bucket list? I don’t really have a bucket list, but I’m very spontaneous so would more likely see something I wanted to do and just go off and do it.

What stops you from travelling? Money is always an issue with getting places but if I really wanna go somewhere ill make sacrifices to go as money cant buy those kind of experiences so id rather save and go do them! Also uni an education at the minute but after I graduate I’m going back travelling maybe and do charity work.

Best food you’ve eaten in another country? Phở soup from Vietnam specifically from Pho2000 restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City.

No. 1 road-trip song? I Want Out by Young Guns, then Hold on by Twin Atlantic.

I'm from Yorkshire in England so you can imagine I love drinking well-brewed tea. Lots of tea. I also love to travel and have adventures, while taking photos to capture the moment.
