He possibly climbed Snowdon with pneumonia when he was ill and shivering, but he did it anyway and lived to tell the tale. Here’s a little more about Douglas Clackson.
Where from: Welwyn, Hertfordshire, England.
How old were you when you first left the country: I’m not sure, maybe 6 or 7.
How many countries travelled: 9 countries I think.
Favourite place/country: To say a country is difficult, but Los Angeles in America is the best place I’ve been to.
Why? For me its obviously just because it’s LA…
Next trip? I’m going to Scotland next year to hike the highlands! I went hiking earlier this year with some pals and it was just amazing.
Bucket list? On my bucket list at the moment is to either go travelling through New Zealand and Australia and see all the Lord of the Rings stuff, like places they filmed and see the Shire, but I also want to go hiking all over the shop. So places like Scotland, the Alps, and places in Mexico and Peru where it’s like you hike for days before you even find the place.
What stops you from travelling? At the moment I don’t want to travel because I have no money. Saying that, I’m relatively budgeting at the minute so that I can do interrailing next summer. I want to do travelling such as interrailing quickly over summer, but I hate the thought of not being able to speak or get my point across in like broken French so I may need to pick up a phrase book.
Best food you’ve eaten in another country? Swordfish in Spain was the best thing I’d ever had, but then I went veggie so…
No. 1 road-trip song? Cold Desert – Kings of Leon
